Roxanne Hilsman's elegant paintings go beyond being mere still-lifes. Her compositions of jars, pears, fabric and other simple objects take on an almost theatrical aspect. Her contrasts of shapes, textures, and shadows create a captivating sense of tension and drama for the viewer. Hilsman's paintings have attracted avid collectors. In addition to winning several awwards, her paintings have most resently been accepted to the Colonie Art League exhibition in New York. She is also a member of the prestigious American Artists Professional League and was selected to participate in the 71st Grand national Exhibition at the Salmagundi Club in New York.
